Great quality product that will last for years to come. Looking forward to spending hours many hours playing the multiple games with my grandchildren. The idea is good -boards slide out of wooden box and there is a pull out tray to hold pieces. But other than chess pieces, which are a decent size and sturdy , the playing pieces are small and very cheap plastic and I've had to use ziplock bags for some pieces because the bags they came in don't reclose. So we know what a few of the games are but some of them I have no idea.
It would be helpful to a have a picture of the board with the directions or b label the boards themselves. The directions for the games are also kind of lacking. I haven't played some of these games in decades and have to refer to google for clear instructions.
This is for my grandson's birthday. He enjoys games with his family and will use this often. He likes a challenge. I was pleasantly surprised at the sturdiness of construction. Having the handy storage is also a plus. What an awesome set! Some of the most beloved games in an organized,well-made "caddy". It's motivating me to learn Chess and Mancala, after 62 years! Our grandsons ages 5 and 7 really enjoy these timeless favorites and screen time has really been reduced as they ask to play board games!
We actually ordered this set for their home, too. Another "Fat Brain" winner! Bought it for when my grandchildren come to my house. So many games, neatly contained in a lovely wooden box. We don't have to worry about little pieces scattered everywhere.
The grandparents were super excited to have so many games in one nice box. I was a little disappointed in the quality and size of the game pieces. Hard to compete with "video games" these days We bought this for our 8 yr old granddaughter's birthday. The pieces are too small. Would be much more suitable for "family" if the playing pieces were larger - example: checkers. The Ultimate Classic Family Game Collection is a nice compact game board with familiar and new games for our family.
When it arrived the two long faux wood middle inserts to hold the middle board dislodged. My husband glued them back on and works fine. A major down fall of the game unit is that the game pieces are not kept in designated areas. Meaning it is not sectionalized to keep order.
We try to keep the game pieces in snack size Ziploc bags and the small bags they came in within only drawer available. That is in the bottom drawer where all the Chinese Checker marbles roll around in. Other than those two disappointments, we enjoy playing a game or two almost on a daily basis since it's arrival.
The concept is nice; a set of board games in a wooden box. In reality, the 'wooden' box is particle board, the game pieces are tiny and cheap, and the printed game board for some of the games is misaligned with the board the Chinese Checkers is tough to play because the marbles are tiny and the holes are almost too small for the marbles, plus the printed design is misaligned with the hole pattern.
